| 1000 Islands Vacation, accommodations, fishin... |
( Details ) |
| The St. Lawrence is full of largemouth and smallmouth bass that receive virtually no pressure. All forms of artificial baits work here but the most consistent are soft plastic worms, minnows, tubes and frogs. For colour you need the natural shades of melons and green pumpkin, along with white. In hard baits you can use spinnerbaits, rapalas, and top water for some real excitement. All forms of live bait will catch you the bass of the river. Worms, minnows, and crawfish are the most common choices. It is not uncommon to have 30 fish days here with big fish running 4 to 6 lbs. I fished bass in the 1000 Islands for 35 years and have never had a day without catching bass. |
